Anna Prohaska
Soprano & Opera SingerAnna Prohaska was born on June 27, 1983, in Neu-Ulm, West Germany, into a profoundly musical family. Her father, Andreas Prohaska, is a distinguished opera director, and her mother is an Irish-English opera singer. Raised between Vienna and Berlin, Prohaska was exposed to the finest European opera traditions.
At just 18 years old, Prohaska made her operatic debut as Flora in Benjamin Britten's "The Turn of the Screw" at Berlin's Komische Oper. By 2006, she joined the ensemble of the Berlin State Opera, performing iconic roles including Pamina in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" and the title role in Monteverdi's "L'incoronazione di Poppea".
